Batman Beyond

How I would make the DCEU

Hello interweb, Nate here!  So, the DCEU has been kinda sucking hasn’t it?  I mean, Man of Steel sucked, Batman V Superman – while I like it as a guilty pleasure – is plagued with sloppy writing, and Suicide Squad most see as the worst of the DCEU movies.  So this year Justice League and Wonder Woman is coming out.  Justice League will probably suck, and I’m really hoping Wonder Woman is at least a good movie if not a great one.  But one criticism the franchise has been facing over and over again is that they’re rushing the movies out too quickly to catch up to Marvel.  Hell, they’ve announced a Nightwing movie when The Batman is still having development issues at the moment!  So I was wondering if  was in charge of this whole project, how would I run it?  So here’s my idea! When reading this, keep in mind that I’m starting from a clean slate.  Meaning I’m pretending Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, and Suicide Squad never happened!

Also keep in mind I’m just focusing on the story aspect at the moment.  Not thinking about cast, directors, writers, etc.

My Opinion On DC Rebirth

DC Rebirth IIHello interweb, Nate here.  So Convergence lasted a while, didn’t it?  Well at least Convergence‘s failure woke DC up because this maybe the best decision they’ve made in a while.  DC Rebirth, for those of you who don’t know, is the rebirth of pre-New 52 DC and combining it with the good parts of the New 52.  So yes we’re getting our DC back!  Most long term DC fans hated the changes within the New 52, I included, so the fact that DC is bringing in the old continuity is amazing!  So just like what I did with All-New, All-Different Marvel (I’ll be reviewing some of the comics in All-New, All-Different Marvel when the trades hit shelves), I’ll be going over the on-going titles listed on the DC Rebirth’s Wikipedia page and giving my opinion on each of them.  Now unlike my All-New, All-Different Marvel post, DC Rebirth isn’t alphabetical but is organized by different sections: “Batman” (including Batman, Action Comics, Nightwing, Batgirl, etc.), “Superman/Wonder Woman”, “Justice League”, and “other”.  There’s also “One-Shots” which includes titles that have “rebirth” in the name (I’m guessing they’re just short miniseries for each character) but I’m not going to go over those.  The list is found on the earlier link so check it out if you want.  With that said, let’s get started! Halloween Special – Top 10 Gothic Superhero Costumes

Happy Halloween interweb, Nate here.  So during my review of Fant4stic I had a poll up for my Halloween Special and between the Top 10 Gothic Superhero Costumes or a Comixplanation on Death in Comics and I think it’s pretty obvious on which one won.  This list is pretty simply: it’s my personal favorite Gothic superhero costumes.  So basically if it’s mostly black with maybe some white, purple, or blue, than it qualifies.  Let’s get the the list!

Top 10 Favorite Animated Superhero Movies

10 Movies That I Want to See Be Made + Aquaman’s Batman V Superman Design

Hello interweb, Nate here.  Sorry I didn’t post yesterday but as I promised on my Facebook page (which you should really follow as I do post updates and share recent news every once in while up there) I am posting this today.  So anyways, Marvel and DC has a bunch of movies that have been announced so a while ago I posted the ten that I’m most excited for.  Now, here’s 10 movies that I would like them to try and make.  Just for clarity, I personally believe there are two reasons for making live-action superhero movies: 1. to bring these characters that we’ve only seen in drawings and possibly cartoons come to life, and 2. to introduce new people to the characters and possibly get them curious enough to pick up one of their comic books.  So these suggestions are going to be towards both or one of those categories.

Also, I said in a recent post that I would try and get at least one Character Bio out every month but the X-23 Character Bio I’m working on still needs some fine tuning.  I’m almost done with it, but it’s just so incredibly long that I doubt anybody would want to read the whole thing so I’m trying to shorten it down some without losing any important information.

Top 10 Favorite Superhero Cartoons [Re-Do]

Announcements

Hello interweb, Nate here.  Last May, I created my Top 5 Favorite Comic-Based Cartoons as one of my first top 5 list.  Since I have seen many more cartoons since then, I thought I’d go back to that list and update it with more cartoons.  Now not only will I add cartoons to the list, but it is possible that the cartoons that remains from my previous list may be in a different order based on new experiences with the cartoons and/or different views than what I saw earlier.  Also, we all have different experiences with the cartoons of some of our favorite comic book heroes, so my list may be different than yours due to different nostalgia and tastes so don’t hate me too much your favorite cartoon didn’t make it onto the list.  Now with that said and done. let’s get to the list!

Top 5 Favorite Comic-Based Cartoons

Announcements

Hello interweb, Nate here.  Sorry about the post I did the other day where I just found some YouTube clips and tossed them on here without making my own content (stuff like that will usually be shared on my Facebook page, check it out here).  My finals are on the 19th so I’ve been busy getting ready for those.  If you keep up with my Facebook page than you might have read that I have been working on three posts: Top 5 Favorite Comic-Based Cartoons (the one you are currently reading), a Spider-man character bio, and a Batman Beyond review with a new format (in that order), but before I do the later 2, I’m going to be working on a Top 10 Female Superhero list in honor of Mothers day.  Don’t worry guys, I’ll do a males only list for fathers day.  Although it’ll probably be harder or easier (depending on how you look at it) as there are noticeably more male superheroes than female superheroes.
