Hello interweb, Nate here! So a while back I reviewed the animated movie Batman: The Killing Joke. Now I just got done watching the recent animated movie Batman and Harley Quinn and I was in the process of writing up a review of the film. I made a reference to this review and when I went to link my Batman and Harley Quinn review to this one I realized that this review reverted back into a draft. I’m not quite sure why this is or what happened but I decided to republish it with as few edits as possible. This is, word-for-word, my original review of the animated movie. I guess you could consider this a “Lost episode” if you want. Anyways, this is a spoiler warning review and enjoy! Stay tuned for my review of the Batman and Harley Quinn animated movie! (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So apparently Margot Robbie, who’s playing Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, is quote “So not done with playing this character” and Warner Bros. is actually thinking about making a Harley Quinn spin-off movie. Now this has many fans excited and a lot of people is discussing the possibility. So since I’m a huge fan of the Harley Quinn character and even wrote a character bio for her (which I really need to go back and fix since the pictures aren’t there for some reason) I figured I’d throw in my two cents on the matter. Hello interweb, Nate here. So Convergence lasted a while, didn’t it? Well at least Convergence‘s failure woke DC up because this maybe the best decision they’ve made in a while. DC Rebirth, for those of you who don’t know, is the rebirth of pre-New 52 DC and combining it with the good parts of the New 52. So yes we’re getting our DC back! Most long term DC fans hated the changes within the New 52, I included, so the fact that DC is bringing in the old continuity is amazing! So just like what I did with All-New, All-Different Marvel (I’ll be reviewing some of the comics in All-New, All-Different Marvel when the trades hit shelves), I’ll be going over the on-going titles listed on the DC Rebirth’s Wikipedia page and giving my opinion on each of them. Now unlike my All-New, All-Different Marvel post, DC Rebirth isn’t alphabetical but is organized by different sections: “Batman” (including Batman, Action Comics, Nightwing, Batgirl, etc.), “Superman/Wonder Woman”, “Justice League”, and “other”. There’s also “One-Shots” which includes titles that have “rebirth” in the name (I’m guessing they’re just short miniseries for each character) but I’m not going to go over those. The list is found on the earlier link so check it out if you want. With that said, let’s get started! (more…)
Warning: This issue is recent and as such will contain spoilers. I will have a short spoiler-free section where I vaguely say what happened in the issue as well as my opinion. Past the spoiler-free section will have spoilers. Also, the “Ratings” section at the bottom of the post will be spoiler-free as well. You have officially been warned.
Hello interweb, Nate here. So Monday I talked about what is going on with Convergence, and Yesterday I reviewed Convergence: Superman #1. Today I review Convergence: Batgirl #1! Let’s geth this review going! (more…)
Hello in interweb, Nate here. So as most of you, DC has rebooted their comics again with an 9-issue miniseries called Convergence. While I have not read any of the Convergence comics from the miniseries (I’m just going to wait until it’s collected into a trade), I have read a few of the titles that came out during this event. The comics I bought was: Convergence: Superman #1, Convergence: Batgirl #1, and Convergence: Harley Quinn #1. I also wanted to buy Convergence: Speed Force #1 but unfortunately my local comic shop ran out of that specific title. So I decided that I would review the three convergence title throughout this week but today I’ll explain what exactly is going on with convergence so it’s easier for you guys to follow along. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So as many of you probably know by now, DC is releasing Joker variant covers for all their titles for the 75th anniversary of the character for the month of June. For those of you who don’t know what a variant cover is, a variant cover is an alternate cover for a comic that is often bought by collectors. These variant covers don’t have to have anything to do with the actual issue, their just an alternate cover you can buy. However there has been one cover that has stirred up quite the controversy lately: the Batgirl #41 Joker Variant cover. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So if you saw my second update you would know that my schedule is a bit off from what I said I’d do. That is because school has started and I’m having trouble getting everything going smoothly. I’m thinking instead of updating every Friday, I’ll actually do it every Saturday instead.
But enough with that, a little while ago, Sentrymann did a post on his blog on his Top 10 Teenaged Superheroes and I commented on his blog about what my list would be, but I’m not quite satisfied with what my list was. So here is my list, hope you guys enjoy.
Also, sorry about the lack of pictures, having some technical difficulties.
Hello interweb, Nate here. So not too long ago I posted a poll for my next Character Bio and nobody voted. However, one person requested a Dick Grayson bio so hey, why not? So today, if you didn’t know that he’s not only been the first Robin and the first Nightwing (thanks to Superman), but has also been the second Batman, than keep reading!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I just hit 30 followers so while it might not be that impressive, it is a milestone I never reached with my previous blog. So today I have two posts planned for you guys: My Top 10 Favorite Marvel Superheroes and My Top 10 Favorite DC Superheroes. So let’s not waist anymore time and get to the list! (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I’m a little late to the draw on this but if you keep track of DC’s news, than you’ve known for a while that they are redesigning Batgirl’s costume and taking this character into a new direction. What is my opinion on all this? Let’s see. (more…)
