Hello interweb, Nate here! So, the DCEU has been kinda sucking hasn’t it? I mean, Man of Steel sucked, Batman V Superman – while I like it as a guilty pleasure – is plagued with sloppy writing, and Suicide Squad most see as the worst of the DCEU movies. So this year Justice League and Wonder Woman is coming out. Justice League will probably suck, and I’m really hoping Wonder Woman is at least a good movie if not a great one. But one criticism the franchise has been facing over and over again is that they’re rushing the movies out too quickly to catch up to Marvel. Hell, they’ve announced a Nightwing movie when The Batman is still having development issues at the moment! So I was wondering if I was in charge of this whole project, how would I run it? So here’s my idea! When reading this, keep in mind that I’m starting from a clean slate. Meaning I’m pretending Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, and Suicide Squad never happened!
Also keep in mind I’m just focusing on the story aspect at the moment. Not thinking about cast, directors, writers, etc. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So with the lack of really good superhero cartoons recently I’ve been thinking about some possible cartoons that could possibly be made. And when I say cartoons, I mean good cartoons. Cartoons that can be both humorous and dramatic, have great characters and character development, and have a really good story. Basically think less of Teen Titans Go!, Avengers Assemble, and Ultimate Spider-man and more Teen Titans, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and Spectacular Spider-man.
Hello interweb, Nate here. Wow, 1st anniversary. 1 year ago Tuesday, I sat down at my computer and decided to start blogging about superheroes. Now look where I am now. I have 62 followers, my most viewed post has 450 views, and I see no signs of stopping or any reason to. So how should I celebrate my first year of this blog? How about by listing my personal Top 10 Favorite Superheroes. Now you guys might be pointing out that I’ve already did this for DC and Marvel separately, and that is true but inaccurate. When I made those lists, I tried to get 2 Top 10 lists out on the exact same day. One of these top 10 lists usually take me about 1-2 hours to make. So trying to get two lists out on the same day, I made several mistakes in those posts (e.g. forgetting some characters and wrongfully putting certain characters above others that I like better) and as such I decided to make 1 list combining both DC and Marvel superheroes. So let’s begin!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So with convergence on its way, I started to think about the last reboot (which happened only 5 years ago), the New 52, and I remembered that while I never really hated the reboot and also never really loved it either, there were several things it did that ticked me off. So I decided to compile a list of some characters the New 52 tried to modernize and failed to do so (unless “modernize” is synonymous with “over complicate and insulting” then yeah they succeeded, but that’s obviously not good). While a few of these may be nitpicks, most of these I honestly feel the New 52 just ruined a few characters.
Hello interweb, Nate here. Sorry I didn’t post yesterday but as I promised on my Facebook page (which you should really follow as I do post updates and share recent news every once in while up there) I am posting this today. So anyways, Marvel and DC has a bunch of movies that have been announced so a while ago I posted the ten that I’m most excited for. Now, here’s 10 movies that I would like them to try and make. Just for clarity, I personally believe there are two reasons for making live-action superhero movies: 1. to bring these characters that we’ve only seen in drawings and possibly cartoons come to life, and 2. to introduce new people to the characters and possibly get them curious enough to pick up one of their comic books. So these suggestions are going to be towards both or one of those categories.
Also, I said in a recent post that I would try and get at least one Character Bio out every month but the X-23 Character Bio I’m working on still needs some fine tuning. I’m almost done with it, but it’s just so incredibly long that I doubt anybody would want to read the whole thing so I’m trying to shorten it down some without losing any important information.
Merry Christmas interweb, Nate here. And I am full of cheer. As this is Christmas week, and a Christmas themed post is what I seek. So I have found for you five Christmas specials, not two. From superhero cartoons you see, and reading this post has no fee. And while my rhymes might be bad, you have to admit that my effort is pretty rad. This was done first by CinemaSins‘s video titled Everything Wrong With How The Grinch Stole Christmas – Again – With Nostalgia Critic , and I thought this was cool for Christmas, I had to admit it. And while I know it’s because it was based off a book Dr. Seuss has done, does that really mean I can’t join in on the fun? So I have held back my Civil War Review, again, to do this Christmas post that’ll be read by few. So grab your egg nog and snuggle up with your dog, this is the top 5 superhero Christmas episodes! Try not to get cold.
Hello interweb, Nate here. Last May, I created my Top 5 Favorite Comic-Based Cartoons as one of my first top 5 list. Since I have seen many more cartoons since then, I thought I’d go back to that list and update it with more cartoons. Now not only will I add cartoons to the list, but it is possible that the cartoons that remains from my previous list may be in a different order based on new experiences with the cartoons and/or different views than what I saw earlier. Also, we all have different experiences with the cartoons of some of our favorite comic book heroes, so my list may be different than yours due to different nostalgia and tastes so don’t hate me too much your favorite cartoon didn’t make it onto the list. Now with that said and done. let’s get to the list!
Hello interweb, Nate here. Sorry about the post I did the other day where I just found some YouTube clips and tossed them on here without making my own content (stuff like that will usually be shared on my Facebook page, check it out here). My finals are on the 19th so I’ve been busy getting ready for those. If you keep up with my Facebook page than you might have read that I have been working on three posts: Top 5 Favorite Comic-Based Cartoons (the one you are currently reading), a Spider-man character bio, and a Batman Beyond review with a new format (in that order), but before I do the later 2, I’m going to be working on a Top 10 Female Superhero list in honor of Mothers day. Don’t worry guys, I’ll do a males only list for fathers day. Although it’ll probably be harder or easier (depending on how you look at it) as there are noticeably more male superheroes than female superheroes.(more…)
