Wonder Woman

How I would make the DCEU

Hello interweb, Nate here!  So, the DCEU has been kinda sucking hasn’t it?  I mean, Man of Steel sucked, Batman V Superman – while I like it as a guilty pleasure – is plagued with sloppy writing, and Suicide Squad most see as the worst of the DCEU movies.  So this year Justice League and Wonder Woman is coming out.  Justice League will probably suck, and I’m really hoping Wonder Woman is at least a good movie if not a great one.  But one criticism the franchise has been facing over and over again is that they’re rushing the movies out too quickly to catch up to Marvel.  Hell, they’ve announced a Nightwing movie when The Batman is still having development issues at the moment!  So I was wondering if  was in charge of this whole project, how would I run it?  So here’s my idea! When reading this, keep in mind that I’m starting from a clean slate.  Meaning I’m pretending Man of Steel, Batman V Superman, and Suicide Squad never happened!

Also keep in mind I’m just focusing on the story aspect at the moment.  Not thinking about cast, directors, writers, etc.

Ranking the most anticipated comic book movies of 2017

Hello interweb, Nate here!  Little late on this but that’s ok.  So just like last year, I’m gonna go over the up coming comic book movies for 2017 and rank them from least anticipated to most anticipated.  Pretty straight forwards, right?  Alright, lego! (more…)

Ranking the 2016 Comic Book movies

2016-comic-book-moviesHello interweb, Nate here!  So today was suppose to be the Top 5 DC Comics of 2016, but I’ve been busy and I’m not fully caught up with all the DC comics I’m reading currently.  Therefore, I decided to do the comic book movies first and instead of a Top 5 list why don’t I just simply rank them?  After all, there were six movies so why not? My Opinion On Wonder Woman Coming out as “Queer”

wonder-woman-4Hello interweb, Nate here!  So recent news broke out where Greg Rucka, the writer of the current Wonder Woman comics, has confirmed in an interview that Wonder Woman was…interested and had romantic relationships with women!  Yeah, he really didn’t place an official label on her as being “gay” or “bisexual” but he pretty much confirmed that Wonder Woman is at least queer.  So is this a win for LGBT peoples everywhere or another attempt at forced diversity? RE: Women Try To Pose Like Female Comic Book Heroes

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So I’m going to try something I’ve never done before: a response post!  Now I’ve never done a response to anything before besides comic book news but I am subscribed to several YouTubers who does response videos for a living so I thought I could try it out myself.  Now this video here was posted 8 months ago at the time of this writing and it is from BuzzFeedYellow.  Now BuzzFeed is very well known on the internet so I’ll only briefly explain who they are.  They’re a series of YouTube channels that are very pro-feminist, pro-tolerance, pro-acceptance, etc.  While none of those are inherently bad, in my opinion at least, they have a reputation for spitting out a lot of low quality videos focusing more on quantity over quality.  Now they are a business so it makes sense on a marketing stand point since the more videos you make the more views you get and the more money you make.  However this does mean that quite a few of these videos are commonly responded to and are often criticized for their stances on things.  Since I talk mainly about comic books on this channel I thought I could take a crack at responding to one of their videos over comic book women.  More specifically how artists chose to pose them.  Because as we all know, women are constantly objectified in mainstream comic books and men are never drawn with unrealistic bodies or in extreme poses.  Now I do want to point out that I will not be taking every second of this video and analyzing every word uttered here simply because I really don’t need to go over when people say things like “I’m nervous” or “I think I can do it”.  I’ll go over the important bits and respond to anything I feel needs a response to.  So let’s begin, shall we? Will we see Robin in the DCEU? – Comixplanations

Batman's RobinsHello interweb, Nate here.  So I haven’t used this Comixplanations segment as much as I originally planned.  Ah well.  So anyhoo, we have heard from Warner Bros that Ben Affleck is not only playing Batman in the DCEU Batman movies but will also be directing it.  Of course you can’t do an MCU-styled DC movie universe without making at least one Batman solo film.  We know that Wonder Woman’s movie is in the works (I reviewed the first trailer) and Man of Steel 2 is currently in development (PLEASE make it better than the first movie) and on top of that Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern are all getting their solo movies.  So with that there’s quite a bit of questions and speculations that we can make while waiting.  However while a few of those characters I know very little about (like Aquaman), I do know most of the characters in the Justice League as well as their history and characters.  And while any one of them can make a really good movie series given the right creative teams (barring Cyborg really since he honestly needs the Teen Titans to be the least bit interesting), Batman in particular has the potential for a greater movie series than even the beloved Dark Knight trilogy with so many villains and allies that have yet to be used fully in a previous Batman movie.  But there’s one ally that I’m really curious on how they’re gonna go about with: Robin!

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice – Review

Batman V SupermanHello interweb, Nate here!  So I am disgustingly late to this review and I apologize for that but I finally got around to watching this film.  Batman V Superman has been critically panned and while some people love it a lot of people feel like it was a train wreck of a movie that made little sense.  What do I think?  Well, I liked it.   It’s not an amazing film but it’s not nearly as bad as critics been saying it is.  But hey let’s talk about the film in the review!  Also everyone has probably seen the film by now since I think I was the last person on the planet who has yet to see it until now but SPOILER WARNING just to be safe. Wonder Woman Trailer Review and Explained

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So I apologize for how late this post is but I’ve been on a week long vacation and I couldn’t bring my computer.  So I managed to get the Justice League trailer out but I couldn’t get the Wonder Woman trailer out before I left.  But I did do a lot on vacation so I think I have quite a bit that I can do for future posts.  For one I finally saw Batman V Superman (the theatrical cut) and Suicide Squad on opening day!  I also saw the recent animated movie The Killing Joke.  So while I will review BVS and Suicide Squad shortly (I’ll probably get the BVS review out later today), I was wondering if you guys wanted me to review The Killing Joke.  I haven’t reviewed an animated movie before but this one in particular seems to be creating quite the stir!  So I’ll have a poll below to determine whether or not you guys will be interested in a The Killing Joke review.  But enough with that, today we’ll focus on Wonder Woman (the whole world is waiting!…that’s how it goes, right?).

Also as a side note:  I’m three subscribers away from reaching 100 subs!  Keep it up you guys!!! (more…)

Justice League Trailer Review and Explained

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So during Comic-Con, DC released trailers for both Wonder Woman and Justice League and in my last post I mentioned how I adored the Wonder Woman trailer but the Justice League trailer did leave me with a few minor complaints.  Overall because I feel like I have more interesting things to say about the Justice League trailer I thought I would kick off my reviewing that trailer first and Wonder Woman second.  Now I do want to make it clear that I haven’t seen Batman V Superman yet but by now I have been spoiled so I know quite a few details about the movie.  With that said, let’s begin! My Opinion On Comic-Con’s Trailers

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So usually with trailers I take them and I take the frame-by-frame to examine their content and easter eggs and considering the views those posts get I’m assuming you guys are interested in seeing them.  Now I got super busy and I neglected to do some recent trailers like the latest trailers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and Suicide Squad as well as failing to touch upon the first Doctor Strange trailer.  Now I don’t want to do the Ninja Turtles trailer since that movie already hit theaters and the purpose to these types of posts is to see what the movie might be like and make guesses based on the trailer and then watching the movie to see how accurate my guesses are, however if you guys want me to go over the Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange trailers (For Doctor Strange I’ll do both and just do the first trailer first) than let me know in the poll below and I’ll get to those ASAP.
