Hello interweb, Nate here. So I meant to do this Character Bio along side the one I had for Miles Morales/Spider-man a little bit ago but these Character Bios are actually some of the longest posts it takes for me to write since it takes more research than a simple review and requires more details than simply gathering a bunch of facts about a character. With that said, I absolutely love this character and really wanted a bio out of her for your entertainment and possibly have you guys fall in love with this character if you haven’t already. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here! You know what I decided I wasn’t going to do when this book was announced? Read it. The reason is because most event books are pointless and Marvel makes them so often that they’re annoying. I also knew that this book was nothing more than a response to Captain America: Civil War because if people saw Captain America: Civil War and then saw that Marvel was producing a book with “Civil War” as the title, people would want to buy it. Now I JUST got finished with the final issue and good god it was horrible. I did not anticipate this book being as bad as it was and I want to let off some steam. So with that, here’s my review!
MAJOR SPOILER WARNINGS FOR THE FOLLOWING COMICS: Civil War II, Ultimates, Doctor Strange, Spider-man, and Ms. Marvel
Hello interweb, Nate here! So I don’t like Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe. It’s not nearly as bad as Spider-man: One More Day but it’s still pretty bad in my opinion. That’s an unpopular opinion, it seems, but I still don’t really care for it. So since you guys enjoyed my last SuperheroSins I figure I’d try it again! Next time I’ll try a DC comic. So let’s begin!
Disclaimer: I do not own Deadpool or this comic. All rights belong to Marvel Comics
Hello interweb, Nate here! So today was suppose to be the Top 5 DC Comics of 2016, but I’ve been busy and I’m not fully caught up with all the DC comics I’m reading currently. Therefore, I decided to do the comic book movies first and instead of a Top 5 list why don’t I just simply rank them? After all, there were six movies so why not? (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here! Last year I tried and failed to do a Christmas series special thingamajig with my 90’cember. So, why don’t I do something simpler! I’ll count down the top 5 Comics each company has produced this year as well as all the comic book movies! So here’s my Top 5 favorite Marvel comics of 2016!
Funny side note: Originally my idea was to have a top 10 best comics with Marvel and DC on a combined list and then a top 10 worst comics of both companies still, but I liked almost everything being published right now so pretty much the only bad comics I could think of is Civil War II and New Avengers because I didn’t like either of those titles. Even the comics I read that I thought weren’t amazing still wasn’t that bad, just okay.
Hello interweb, Nate here! I am so excited! The first official trailer for Spider-man: Homecoming hit the web last night and the only reason I didn’t scream was that I was the only one awake at the time. So with that said, let’s not waste any more time and check this thing out!
Hello interweb, Nate here! So I’m going to try a SuperheroSins article on an actual comic! One weakness I’ve been noticing about these SuperheroSins is that they primarily rely on YouTube videos for it to work. Meaning if said YouTube video gets taken down for copyright purposes than the video is no longer on the post for people to use as a reference. So I thought I’d try to use an actual comic for a SuperheroSins of mine! Now this is an experimentation as I obviously can’t upload an entire comic book (and to be fair I really shouldn’t have to) but I figured if I read the comic book on my laptop than I can take screen shots of the panels I need and place them when needed. So why did I decide to do a SuperheroSins on this comic instead of a simple review? Simple! I absolutely hate this comic and I feel like a simple review would not do this comic justice in just how bad it is. I’m willing to review bad comics! However I thought a SuperheroSins would be a better format to pick out everything wrong with this comic. So let’s begin!
Disclaimer: I do not own Spider-man. All art and characters are owned by Marvel Comics (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So the casting choices for Spider-man: Homecoming has became more and more clear that the main goal in said choices is to make Peter Parker’s high school as racially diverse as humanly possible in order to accurately present a modern day High School in Queens, New York City. Because of this, an actress named Zendaya – who apparently have so far made a name for herself on the Disney Channel which I do not watch since Cartoon Network has all my favorite shows (except Miraculous Ladybug on Nick) but that’s besides the point – has been casted to play the character “Michelle” according to the Spider-man: Homecoming wikipedia page. However apparently rumors are spreading all over the internet that the name “Michelle” is actually a cover name to hide her true character which is none other than the character Mary Jane (hence the title of this post). Of course Zendaya is half-black and half-white – but of course since this is the internet the main priority is that she is black – and Mary Jane is 100% Caucasian so people are throwing a fit on why our white redheaded character is becoming black (wait a redheaded Caucasian becoming a black character? This kinda sounds familiar…hmmm *cough*WallyWest*cough*). (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I haven’t used this Comixplanations segment as much as I originally planned. Ah well. So anyhoo, we have heard from Warner Bros that Ben Affleck is not only playing Batman in the DCEU Batman movies but will also be directing it. Of course you can’t do an MCU-styled DC movie universe without making at least one Batman solo film. We know that Wonder Woman’s movie is in the works (I reviewed the first trailer) and Man of Steel 2 is currently in development (PLEASE make it better than the first movie) and on top of that Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern are all getting their solo movies. So with that there’s quite a bit of questions and speculations that we can make while waiting. However while a few of those characters I know very little about (like Aquaman), I do know most of the characters in the Justice League as well as their history and characters. And while any one of them can make a really good movie series given the right creative teams (barring Cyborg really since he honestly needs the Teen Titans to be the least bit interesting), Batman in particular has the potential for a greater movie series than even the beloved Dark Knight trilogy with so many villains and allies that have yet to be used fully in a previous Batman movie. But there’s one ally that I’m really curious on how they’re gonna go about with: Robin!
