A Returning Yu-Gi-Oh! Player’s Opinion on Link Monsters

Hello interweb, Nate here!  Now as I’ve been stating recently, I’m kinda expanding this blog a bit to include “geek” related topics on here.  But because I built my audience around superheroes and comic books, I’m not sure how many of my readers are actually fans of Yu-Gi-Oh! or not.  Either way, I decided to make a post about the TCG (Trading Card Game for you normies out there) because a somewhat recent development has been made to my beloved game that I wanted to discuss.   Still working on Everything Wrong With: “The Dark Knight Returns” Pt. 3 and hopefully I’ll get that out early next week! Top 10 Favorite LGBT Characters – Pride Month Special

Hello interweb, Nate here!  My first Pride Month special!  I’ve always meant to do one of these but every time I found the time to do one Pride Month was over and I didn’t really want to do a Pride Month special if it wasn’t during Pride.  I also wanted to get this out on the 26th since that marked the second anniversary of gay marriage being legalized in all 50 states in America, but I got busy on a Youth retreat and thus didn’t have the time to complete this.  Maybe in future years I’ll be able to create a tradition of releasing a Pride special every year on June 26th but don’t get your hopes up.  Enough beating around the bush, this list consists of my Top 10 Favorite characters in comics or comic book adaptations that identify as LGBT.  Leggo!

Wonder Woman – Review

Hello interweb, Nate here! Spoiler-free opinions?  Best DC movie since The Dark Knight, definitely watch it!  You will not be dissapointed!  That’s really all I have to say without giving away spoilers so from this point onwards SPOILER WARNING and leggo! (more…)

Logan – Review

Hello interweb, Nate here!  So Logan happened a few months ago and I finally managed to check it out!  If you want my spoiler-free opinion on the film then I’d say that it’s good solid movie.  It’s not the greatest superhero movie ever and I think most people who watched it like it way more then I do, but it is a really good movie and it’s definitely the second best X-Men movie right behind Deadpool.  If you haven’t seen it I would highly recommend checking it out if you’re 16 or older.  Now that the spoiler-free bit is out of the way, the rest of this review will contain spoilers so SPOILER WARNING and trust me you do not want to be spoiled.

Side note: Wonder Woman review coming soon (Haven’t seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 yet, sorry)

Do we Want More R-Rated Superhero Movies? – Discussion

Hello interweb, Nate here!  So I recently decided to clean up my blog a little.  The categories that I put all my posts in where kinda everywhere and I had a lot of random old junk posts that weren’t doing anything but making this place cluttery.  So I deleted a lot of old posts that nobody was reading (mostly because they where old and dumb) and reorganized the categories a bit.  This has little to do with this actual post but I did want to introduce a semi-new category: discussions!  These posts are meant to do exactly what it says.  I bring up a topic, briefly (or as briefly as possible) give my current opinions on the topic, and let you guys comment below with your thoughts and maybe we can have a little dialogue over it.  It doesn’t necessarily have to be a long drawn-out conversation either.  I respond to all comments I get on this blog so if you decide to leave a comment below and I respond you can decide for yourself whether to continue the conversation or not!  With all that said and done, let’s get this idea off the ground! My Tribute to Adam West – RIP Batman

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So quite recently, Adam West passed away at the age of 88.  Now I was hesitant to make this post as I actually never grew up with Adam West and therefore I was never the biggest fan of his work.  Sure, he played a role in the 60’s Batman show but I honestly know him better as the Mayor of Quahog in Family Guy.  However, I do have to respect the man for what he’s done in terms of his impact in comics — more specifically DC and even more specifically Batman — and because of that I respect how he has helped turn my personal favorite superhero into the icon he is today.  While I’m n0t personally a fan of the campy Batman TV show myself, I do acknowledge and respect the fact that without 60’s campy Batman there might’ve not been Batman as we know him today.  It’s kinda like how I respect The Dark Knight Returns for rebooting Batman into the grittier and darker character that I’ve fallen in love with even though The Dark Knight Returns itself kinda sucks in my opinion.  So with all that said and done, thank you Adam West and rest in peace.
