My Opinion on Deathstroke in Batman

DeathstrokeHello intwerweb, Nate here!  So Ben Affleck recently leaked a teaser revealing Deathstroke’s costume for the upcoming Batman movie and the entire internet lost it.  Now yes it is official that Deathstroke the Terminator is going to be the villain of the the Ben Affleck directed Batman movie.  So what are my thoughts on the situation?  Well it’s pretty simple: since when was Deathstroke a Batman villain?  He’s the Teen Titan’s archenemy! RE: Women Try To Pose Like Female Comic Book Heroes

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So I’m going to try something I’ve never done before: a response post!  Now I’ve never done a response to anything before besides comic book news but I am subscribed to several YouTubers who does response videos for a living so I thought I could try it out myself.  Now this video here was posted 8 months ago at the time of this writing and it is from BuzzFeedYellow.  Now BuzzFeed is very well known on the internet so I’ll only briefly explain who they are.  They’re a series of YouTube channels that are very pro-feminist, pro-tolerance, pro-acceptance, etc.  While none of those are inherently bad, in my opinion at least, they have a reputation for spitting out a lot of low quality videos focusing more on quantity over quality.  Now they are a business so it makes sense on a marketing stand point since the more videos you make the more views you get and the more money you make.  However this does mean that quite a few of these videos are commonly responded to and are often criticized for their stances on things.  Since I talk mainly about comic books on this channel I thought I could take a crack at responding to one of their videos over comic book women.  More specifically how artists chose to pose them.  Because as we all know, women are constantly objectified in mainstream comic books and men are never drawn with unrealistic bodies or in extreme poses.  Now I do want to point out that I will not be taking every second of this video and analyzing every word uttered here simply because I really don’t need to go over when people say things like “I’m nervous” or “I think I can do it”.  I’ll go over the important bits and respond to anything I feel needs a response to.  So let’s begin, shall we? My Opinion on Zendaya as Mary Jane and Representation

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So the casting choices for Spider-man: Homecoming has became more and more clear that the main goal in said choices is to make Peter Parker’s high school as racially diverse as humanly possible in order to accurately present a modern day High School in Queens, New York City.  Because of this, an actress named Zendaya – who apparently have so far made a name for herself on the Disney Channel which I do not watch since Cartoon Network has all my favorite shows (except Miraculous Ladybug on Nick) but that’s besides the point – has been casted to play the character “Michelle” according to the Spider-man: Homecoming wikipedia page.  However apparently rumors are spreading all over the internet that the name “Michelle” is actually a cover name to hide her true character which is none other than the character Mary Jane (hence the title of this post).  Of course Zendaya is half-black and half-white – but of course since this is the internet the main priority is that she is black – and Mary Jane is 100% Caucasian so people are throwing a fit on why our white redheaded character is becoming black (wait a redheaded Caucasian becoming a black character?  This kinda sounds familiar…hmmm *cough*WallyWest*cough*). Will we see Robin in the DCEU? – Comixplanations

Batman's RobinsHello interweb, Nate here.  So I haven’t used this Comixplanations segment as much as I originally planned.  Ah well.  So anyhoo, we have heard from Warner Bros that Ben Affleck is not only playing Batman in the DCEU Batman movies but will also be directing it.  Of course you can’t do an MCU-styled DC movie universe without making at least one Batman solo film.  We know that Wonder Woman’s movie is in the works (I reviewed the first trailer) and Man of Steel 2 is currently in development (PLEASE make it better than the first movie) and on top of that Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern are all getting their solo movies.  So with that there’s quite a bit of questions and speculations that we can make while waiting.  However while a few of those characters I know very little about (like Aquaman), I do know most of the characters in the Justice League as well as their history and characters.  And while any one of them can make a really good movie series given the right creative teams (barring Cyborg really since he honestly needs the Teen Titans to be the least bit interesting), Batman in particular has the potential for a greater movie series than even the beloved Dark Knight trilogy with so many villains and allies that have yet to be used fully in a previous Batman movie.  But there’s one ally that I’m really curious on how they’re gonna go about with: Robin!

Suicide Squad – Review

Suicide SquadHello interweb, Nate here.  So I saw Suicide Squad opening day!  But before I get to this review I do want to confirm that I’ll be reviewing The Killing Joke either later today or tomorrow but I’ll definitely be reviewing it rather soon.  I put a poll up in my Wonder Woman trailer review and I have at least 4 of you guys wanting me to review this animated movie and nobody seems to be against the review so I figured I’ll give into your guys’ desires and cough up a review for the movie.  But I’m not reviewing The Killing Joke!  I’m reviewing Suicide Squad!  So let’s get into this!  And as always, spoiler warning. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice – Review

Batman V SupermanHello interweb, Nate here!  So I am disgustingly late to this review and I apologize for that but I finally got around to watching this film.  Batman V Superman has been critically panned and while some people love it a lot of people feel like it was a train wreck of a movie that made little sense.  What do I think?  Well, I liked it.   It’s not an amazing film but it’s not nearly as bad as critics been saying it is.  But hey let’s talk about the film in the review!  Also everyone has probably seen the film by now since I think I was the last person on the planet who has yet to see it until now but SPOILER WARNING just to be safe. Wonder Woman Trailer Review and Explained

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So I apologize for how late this post is but I’ve been on a week long vacation and I couldn’t bring my computer.  So I managed to get the Justice League trailer out but I couldn’t get the Wonder Woman trailer out before I left.  But I did do a lot on vacation so I think I have quite a bit that I can do for future posts.  For one I finally saw Batman V Superman (the theatrical cut) and Suicide Squad on opening day!  I also saw the recent animated movie The Killing Joke.  So while I will review BVS and Suicide Squad shortly (I’ll probably get the BVS review out later today), I was wondering if you guys wanted me to review The Killing Joke.  I haven’t reviewed an animated movie before but this one in particular seems to be creating quite the stir!  So I’ll have a poll below to determine whether or not you guys will be interested in a The Killing Joke review.  But enough with that, today we’ll focus on Wonder Woman (the whole world is waiting!…that’s how it goes, right?).

Also as a side note:  I’m three subscribers away from reaching 100 subs!  Keep it up you guys!!! (more…)
