Hello interweb, Nate here. So Convergence lasted a while, didn’t it? Well at least Convergence‘s failure woke DC up because this maybe the best decision they’ve made in a while. DC Rebirth, for those of you who don’t know, is the rebirth of pre-New 52 DC and combining it with the good parts of the New 52. So yes we’re getting our DC back! Most long term DC fans hated the changes within the New 52, I included, so the fact that DC is bringing in the old continuity is amazing! So just like what I did with All-New, All-Different Marvel (I’ll be reviewing some of the comics in All-New, All-Different Marvel when the trades hit shelves), I’ll be going over the on-going titles listed on the DC Rebirth’s Wikipedia page and giving my opinion on each of them. Now unlike my All-New, All-Different Marvel post, DC Rebirth isn’t alphabetical but is organized by different sections: “Batman” (including Batman, Action Comics, Nightwing, Batgirl, etc.), “Superman/Wonder Woman”, “Justice League”, and “other”. There’s also “One-Shots” which includes titles that have “rebirth” in the name (I’m guessing they’re just short miniseries for each character) but I’m not going to go over those. The list is found on the earlier link so check it out if you want. With that said, let’s get started! (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I haven’t posted anything in a while and that’s mainly because of how busy I’ve been lately. I was originally going to review the newest Suicide Squad and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 trailers, and I will later this week, but I ultimately decided to do a SuperheroSins episode for my favorite episode of my favorite comic book based cartoon. I should also mention that this episode is the third episode of season three so if you are watching the series and you don’t want to be spoiled than I’d suggest not reading the rest of this post. Now just to give a general background to this episode: mutants have been broadcast worldwide so everyone now know they exist, people are afraid of them, and now they’re dealing with the prejudice and bigotry that you’d expect from an X-Men story.
Now this episode is my favorite mainly because it’s just such a deep episode for a children’s cartoon and it ultimately shows why I love the X-Men as a whole. I would elaborate but I feel like I should just let the episode speak for itself and my commentary as I review it below. Now the previous X-Men: Evolution episodes I commented on where found on Marvel’s official YouTube channel but they have recently taken them down so I had to find this episode from a different channel. Now this set up is a little odd as the video I found was about 30 min long but the episode just restarts half way through; so you don’t need to see the whole video. With that said, let’s get started!
