Hello interweb, Nate here! First of all, yeesh I forgot how big this book was. Four chapters does not equal four of your average comic books. Most comics only contain roughly 20 pages and usually takes about 10 minutes to read (although that can change depending on how fast of a reader you are and how much text the writer decides to shove into the actual book). So this SuperheroSins took a lot longer to make then I initially expected and it took my several days to actually complete it. However, because it’s so long I decided to split this into several parts with each chapter getting it’s own SuperheroSins episode.
Also I do want to add something, just because I do a SuperheroSins on a specific comic does not necessarily mean I think the comic is bad. But every comic out there can be critiqued and nitpicked if you try hard enough (side note: I find it funny that my auto correct accepted “nitpicked” as a word). With all that said, let’s begin!
Disclaimer: I do not claim to own Batman or this comic. Batman is owned by DC comics, this comic is written and drawn by Frank Miller. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here! So I don’t like Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe. It’s not nearly as bad as Spider-man: One More Day but it’s still pretty bad in my opinion. That’s an unpopular opinion, it seems, but I still don’t really care for it. So since you guys enjoyed my last SuperheroSins I figure I’d try it again! Next time I’ll try a DC comic. So let’s begin!
Disclaimer: I do not own Deadpool or this comic. All rights belong to Marvel Comics
Hello interweb, Nate here! So I’ve reviewed a couple animated cartoons in the past such as Steven Universe and Miraculous Ladybug (Steven Universe probably the best cartoon on right now and still waiting for season 2 of Miraculous) however ironically enough I have yet to review an actual adaptation of a comic book. So let me correct that with a cartoon I just finished binge watching: Legion of Super Heroes! Now in a previous post a while back I said I was planning on reviewing The Spectacular Spider-man. I lied. Now I like to review movies/cartoons/comics/etc. when I just finished viewing them and their content is fresh in my mind so I can remember most of what I have just experienced. The Spectacular Spider-man is a cartoon I watched on YouTube a while back and I couldn’t find the episodes to rewatch when I wanted to review it (probably was taken down for copyright violations). However I have managed to find a cartoon series I actually never seen before and decided to take a crack at it. This is my thoughts! Also while I’ll avoid major spoilers I might give small spoilers here or there. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here! So I’m going to try a SuperheroSins article on an actual comic! One weakness I’ve been noticing about these SuperheroSins is that they primarily rely on YouTube videos for it to work. Meaning if said YouTube video gets taken down for copyright purposes than the video is no longer on the post for people to use as a reference. So I thought I’d try to use an actual comic for a SuperheroSins of mine! Now this is an experimentation as I obviously can’t upload an entire comic book (and to be fair I really shouldn’t have to) but I figured if I read the comic book on my laptop than I can take screen shots of the panels I need and place them when needed. So why did I decide to do a SuperheroSins on this comic instead of a simple review? Simple! I absolutely hate this comic and I feel like a simple review would not do this comic justice in just how bad it is. I’m willing to review bad comics! However I thought a SuperheroSins would be a better format to pick out everything wrong with this comic. So let’s begin!
Disclaimer: I do not own Spider-man. All art and characters are owned by Marvel Comics (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So with my SuperheroSins (my parody posts of YourTube Channel CinemaSins), I was originally planning on continuing on the cartoon X-Men: Evolution to the end. The problem was while the first post was somewhat of a hit, every post after that gained less and less views. So I though I’d mix it up a bit. Every SuperheroSins will be a different episode of any superhero-based cartoons. Basically the criteria is that it must be a superhero cartoon, must be based off of a comic (just funner that way since we can poke fun of any comic-book inaccuracies), it must be easy to nitpick the heck out of it, and it must be on YouTube so I can post the video on here. With that said, I found this episode of the 60’s Spider-man cartoon and thought I’d have some fun with it. It should be noted that while this cartoon was made in the 60’s and thus is no where near as good as modern cartoons (well…that’s debatable), I will judge it with our modern standards of cartoons simply because it’s more fun. With that all said and done, let’s do this!. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So last month I posted my third installment of SuperheroSins and added a poll asking if I should continue. It was 1 vote each (someone commented and told me he/she clicked the wrong button) and someone on Facebook said that she liked it. So here’s the 4th installment. Now these SuperheroSins aren’t going to be like most of my posts I do (Top 10s/5s, Character Bios, etc.) as I’ll do these either when I have some time in the middle of the week to throw one together or if I have no time to make one of my more formal posts (and by “formal” I mean ones that I actually put effort in).
Also, I’m leaving for a week long vacation to Cancun, Mexico, so I won’t be here to make a post on December 1st. However, I can make a post a head of time and schedule it for December 1st so it posts automatically (this does mean that my Facebook followers will have to come and check it out as I won’t make a Facebook link for said post). So you guys can comment below or on my Facebook page for a Top 10 suggestion and I’ll pick my favorite suggestion and make that the post for December 1st. Bring me your suggestions before Tuesday and it will be scheduled to post while I’m away. But be aware that I won’t be able to access the internet very often while in Mexico so I may not reply to comments quickly while I’m gone. Any questions or comment can be sent either by commenting below, on Facebook, or by emailing me at email@example.com. With that said and done, on to the sins! (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I said in an earlier post that I would give my SuperheroSins series the Axe because I said that it wasn’t popular enough. But I guess I just didn’t wait long enough because the last two where actually quite well received by you guys. So I’m giving this series another shot and I created a poll below so you guys can decide whether I continue doing this or not. These posts are really easy and aren’t hard to do (I literally just watch an episode and then find all the nitpicks in them). So with that said, let’s give this another chance. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So sense Sunday’s post went well, I decided to post episode 2 today since this is a new series I’m doing. I’m debating on whether to do the whole series of X-Men: Evolution or just do the first season then move on, but leave a comment below on your suggestions. Some other future posts that’s coming up is a post I’m going to do talking about the prices of comic books. Outright Geekery talked about his pinions on the matter and I re-blogged his post on the matter (which you can read here) but there was a few things I think I can add to the argument. Another post that might come later rather than sooner is a viewer requested Ant-Man Character Bio along with a Wasp Character Bio. I promised that I’ll get to them after I’m done with the Robins (Tim Drake should be done by the 27th) so you can be expecting those. (more…)
Hell0 interweb, Nate here. So one of the major cartoons that got me into X-Men and comics as a whole was X-Men: Evolution. There is a YouTube channel I am subscribed to called CinemaSins who basically shows a movie (not the whole movie, obviously, just the important clips) and finds all the tiny nitpicks you can find. It’s really funny and he’s done movies of all kinds including, you guessed it, superhero movies. He’s don the Dark Knight Trilogy, Green Lantern, The Spider-man trilogy, and even DareDevil. His full superhero movie playlist can be viewed here but other channels has also tried this out and so I thought I’d give mine a shot. So sense I don’t have any video editing software, I’m just going to say when what happened (you’ll see what I mean) and you can choose to either watch the whole thing or skip around. (more…)
