So since I haven’t posted anything in the last few weeks (baring that one update), and I recently finished reading this Secret Wars tie-in, I figured why not make a really quick review of it? I do apologize if this review isn’t very thorough but I do feel like I should get something out there for you guys. I probably will make something by Monday. So let’s jump right into it!

Review
So I assume everyone knows what’s going on over at Marvel with their Secret Wars event, but just in case you don’t let me briefly give a little background. Marvel has been doing a reboot called Secret Wars, which is based off of the original Secret Wars in the 80’s that shook up the status-quo of several characters. For example, the original Secret Wars is where Spider-man got his black costume from that later turned out to be the Venom symbiote. This story is a tie-in to the current reboot.
So now that you have a little background let’s get to the review. This comic takes place during the original Secret Wars, complete with all the original characters and the designs they had at the time. The only difference is that Deadpool, who was invented in 1991 and thus didn’t exist during the original event, is there screwing around with the story in a way only Deadpool can. Because Deadpool wasn’t around until the early 90’s, nobody there knows who Deadpool is so it’s fun to see all the characters reactions to meeting Deadpool for the first time (within the context of the story).
The first part of the story mostly is full of action as all the Marvel heroes (including Deadpool) fights on battleworld. The actions really fun and Deadpool pretty much never shuts the heck up. The story even has a bit of drama as a character with healing powers manages to heal Deadpool of his cancer only to regain it later on that causes some backlash on him. You actually feel really sorry for Deadpool in the end.
While the the heroes of the original event is all there, Deadpool is clearly the main character of the story. Now I admit I have not read a lot of Deadpool comics (my list of Deadpool stories includes: Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe and Deadpool Vs Carnage and one of those stories isn’t even cannon to the 616 universe), but based on what I do know about him I don’t see anything wrong with his portrayal here. He breaks the forth wall, makes a couple sexual innuendos, and never shuts up. Considering the previous two Deadpool stories I’ve read, I feel like this is the most hilarious of them as I laughed out loud quite a few times.
The art is also really good. You can tell what’s going on in each panel, it pays homage to the original Secret Wars with character designs of the 80’s and the art is just really colorful.
Overall I give this comic a 4.5/5 (really good). So far it’s not my favorite Secret Wars tie-in (that honor goes to X-Men ’92 which I will review when I finish collecting the single issues) but it is really good. Deadpool is hilarious in this and while the number of Deadpool stories I’ve read is still pretty low, this is probably the best I’ve read so far. If you’re a fan of Deadpool, or you just want to read more about him, than check this comic out for yourself!
Superhero etc. 
I could do without the innouendos, but aside from that the comic does sound pretty great. Taking place during the original Secret Wars sounds like a fun little twist and Deadpool can certainly pull it off. Never underestimate that little trouble maker! He’s definitely one of my favorite villains, probably first as far as Marvel is concerned.
Thanks! Like I said in the review, I haven’t read a lot of Deadpool comics but based on what I’ve heard and what I’ve read he is shaping up to be one of my personal favorite characters. He’s hilarious (when given to the right writer) but also a surprising complex character.
There really was only two innouendos that I remember and I would say that one of them wasn’t that bad. In the first one he’s talking to a female superhero and says that she has “impressive bubbles”. When she yells at Deadpool, he clarifies that he’s talking about her speech bubbles and not her chest. Although the second one is kinda raunchy as he strait up asks She-Hulk and Huntress (I think) if they’d like to have a threesome. The second one I kinda cringed at but it only occured once so it didnt ruin the comic to me.
I’ve liked Deadpool from Hulk Vs and comics as a guest star, but I’ve never actually read a Deadpool comic myself so I have even less experience with him! I did flip through some issues back in the day though and I agree that he can be quite the complex character. As long as the writer doen’t overdo it with the jokes, his issues certainly have a lot of potential. True, it’s just two lines so at least it’s not so bad and a lot of comics tend to add those things nowadays (Dan Slott) so it could be worse. The movie’s looking dicey for those reasons) Still, sounds like a solid comic. Even more than fanservice or suggestive comments like that, the one thing that can destroy any comic would be a scene of animal violence. But, I doubt something like that would pop up here, it’d certainly be random if it did!
The trailers for the movies seem a bit sketchy to me. On the one hand they seems to be doing an accurate portrayal of his origin and showing off his raunchy humor, but on the other hand they they need to understand that he’s a jokester but hes more than just his jokes. His body is full of cancer, hes LGBT, hes disabled, he has a daughter, etc. All we have for now is the trailers but i do hope its not just an hour and a half of nothing but profanity, sex, and violence.
