Hello interweb, Nate here. Welcome to 90’cember, where I go over the over-the-top craziness that is 90’s comics throughout the month of December to celebrate the over-the-top craziness that is Christmas. Today we’re going over the DC Vs Marvel comic book line and exploring the crossovers that occurred during the events.
Side note: As most of you know, the second official Batman V Superman trailer recently been released. So despite the fact that we’re in the middle of 90’cember, I thought I’d post a trailer review of it tomorrow. You guys seem to enjoy those types of posts so what the heck!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So despite my love for the X-Men, I have to admit that I’ve fallen behind on the team. Now All-New, All-Different Marvel is starting up again with new X-Men titles but I’ve heard good things and bad things about Brian Michael Bendis’s Uncanny X-Men and All-New X-Men titles from “Marvel Now!” so I thought I’d go back and read those two titles before jumping on the current ones. So while binge-reading (is that a thing?) these two X-Men comics, I finally got around to reading the 2013 mega crossover event: X-Men: Battle of the Atom. This 10-issue story crossed over every X-Men title that was going on at the time so if you love the X-Men as much as I do than it is definitly a must read. But I’ve stalled long enough, so let’s get to the review! Also, spoiler warning. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So since I haven’t posted anything in the last few weeks (baring that one update), and I recently finished reading this Secret Wars tie-in, I figured why not make a really quick review of it? I do apologize if this review isn’t very thorough but I do feel like I should get something out there for you guys. I probably will make something by Monday. So let’s jump right into it! (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So this question has been bugging me for quite some time now: what is an antihero? Now based upon my understanding of the term, an antihero is a character who does villainous things for good intentions. The best example is the Punisher who’s main shtick is to go around and kill bad guys. Killing is obviously a villainous trait and most heroes (such as Spider-man, Batman, and Superman [well, when he’s not being directed by Zack Snyder]) refuse to do it, but since he’s doing it to protect the innocent from murderers and thieves he’s not considered a villain; thus he’s an antihero. Many character easily fit this description such as Deadpool, Deathstroke (yes he’s usually shown as a villain but because he’s a mercenary he’s willing to help the good guys if they pay him enough. Which is rare but it has happened before.), Spawn, Catwoman, etc. but there are a few characters that people have described as an antihero that has confused me in the past and that’s what I’m mostly curious about here. Hello interweb, Nate here. So marvelvarietal at receive grace 2 show grace requested me to review this title and since I personally like to do fan-requested posts I figured why not? So here it is: The Superior Spider-man. If you’d like to request a post (such as a review or Character Bio) than comment below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. Sorry that this did not go up Monday but I guess I needed more time to finish this list than expected and thus I started making this later than I should’ve. Now I am officially out of school for the summer and since this is my first post for summer of 2015 I figured I should start out with a bang! So, how about I do my favorite X-Men? If you’ve been reading this blog for any amount of time, you would know that I absolutely love the X-Men. I love the X-Men more then the Justice League, Avengers, or even the Teen Titans. Now if you’ve read my Top 10 Favorite Superheroes list than you already know the top 4 already, however what about the other 6? Plus if you haven’t read that post yet than you probably don’t know my top 4. Either way, here they are!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I originally had nothing planned today but a friend of mine (who knows I dislike this character) sent me a link to a post where this guy is explaining why Wolverine is apparently the best Superhero ever (according to him, even better than Batman). I’m not going to send you guys a link to the post as I don’t want to make this a response to his post (even though you can argue that it technically is) but I have said several times that I don’t like Wolverine and you guys as well as some of my friends has asked me why I don’t like wolverine, and I always say “I don’t know, I just don’t” as I know that Wolverine is some of your guys’ favorite superhero and I don’t want anyone getting mad at me for bashing on their favorite superhero. So tell you guys what, if I explain why I dislike Wolverine, then you guys don’t get too angry at me. You can criticize my reasons all you want in the comments below, and if you don’t want to hear me bash this guy than you can simply not read this post. So with all that said, here’s what’s bound to be my most controversial post yet
Hello interweb, Nate here. So recently Marvel has announced that due to Death of Wolverine, Spider-man will take Wolverine’s place as a teacher for the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning. Now I have to admit, I haven’t really been keeping up with Marvel Now!’s X-Men titles. I haven’t read Wolverine and the X-Men because I was worried it would be less Wolverine and the X-Men and more Wolverine With a Few Cameos From the X-Men (as many of you know I am not a fan of Wolverine), I haven’t read the current run of Uncanny X-Men, and I have only read the first two trade paperback copies of All New X-Men (meaning I have read the first 10 issues) and stopped because nothing was really happening. Besides those, I haven’t read Battle of the Atom (but I’m planning to), I have read AVX (Avengers Vs X-Men), and I have recently read Death of Wolverine. So now that you guys no where I am with the X-Men titles, let’s check out the preview to this upcoming title. (more…)
