Justice League

Justice League Trailer Review and Explained

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So during Comic-Con, DC released trailers for both Wonder Woman and Justice League and in my last post I mentioned how I adored the Wonder Woman trailer but the Justice League trailer did leave me with a few minor complaints.  Overall because I feel like I have more interesting things to say about the Justice League trailer I thought I would kick off my reviewing that trailer first and Wonder Woman second.  Now I do want to make it clear that I haven’t seen Batman V Superman yet but by now I have been spoiled so I know quite a few details about the movie.  With that said, let’s begin! My Opinion On Comic-Con’s Trailers

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So usually with trailers I take them and I take the frame-by-frame to examine their content and easter eggs and considering the views those posts get I’m assuming you guys are interested in seeing them.  Now I got super busy and I neglected to do some recent trailers like the latest trailers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and Suicide Squad as well as failing to touch upon the first Doctor Strange trailer.  Now I don’t want to do the Ninja Turtles trailer since that movie already hit theaters and the purpose to these types of posts is to see what the movie might be like and make guesses based on the trailer and then watching the movie to see how accurate my guesses are, however if you guys want me to go over the Suicide Squad and Doctor Strange trailers (For Doctor Strange I’ll do both and just do the first trailer first) than let me know in the poll below and I’ll get to those ASAP. My Opinion On DC Rebirth

DC Rebirth IIHello interweb, Nate here.  So Convergence lasted a while, didn’t it?  Well at least Convergence‘s failure woke DC up because this maybe the best decision they’ve made in a while.  DC Rebirth, for those of you who don’t know, is the rebirth of pre-New 52 DC and combining it with the good parts of the New 52.  So yes we’re getting our DC back!  Most long term DC fans hated the changes within the New 52, I included, so the fact that DC is bringing in the old continuity is amazing!  So just like what I did with All-New, All-Different Marvel (I’ll be reviewing some of the comics in All-New, All-Different Marvel when the trades hit shelves), I’ll be going over the on-going titles listed on the DC Rebirth’s Wikipedia page and giving my opinion on each of them.  Now unlike my All-New, All-Different Marvel post, DC Rebirth isn’t alphabetical but is organized by different sections: “Batman” (including Batman, Action Comics, Nightwing, Batgirl, etc.), “Superman/Wonder Woman”, “Justice League”, and “other”.  There’s also “One-Shots” which includes titles that have “rebirth” in the name (I’m guessing they’re just short miniseries for each character) but I’m not going to go over those.  The list is found on the earlier link so check it out if you want.  With that said, let’s get started! My Top 5 Most Anticipated Comic Book Movies for 2016

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So sorry about how 90’cember is going.  I thought I’d be able to get the posts out weekly for December but obviously that’s not the case.  I will try to get the remaining three 90’cember posts posted but it will end up stretching to January; although I won’t let it get to February.  With that aside, 2016 is turning out to be a fantastic year for superhero comic book movies so I thought I’d count down the 5 films I’m most excited for!

Batman V Superman Trailer #2 Review and Explained

Warning:  All of what I’m about to say may very well be me speculating and theorizing.  So if I say something that contradicts something that is revealed later than that is why.  Also just to be on the safe side I’m just going to say there are possible spoilers below but I highly doubt there’s anything that will ruin the movie if I mention it.

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So as most of you know by now, Batman V Superman has its second trailer released for public viewing and since I already did the teaser trailer and the first official trailer, I can’t just not do this trailer, right?  So let’s go over this monster! (more…)

Halloween Special – Top 10 Gothic Superhero Costumes

Happy Halloween interweb, Nate here.  So during my review of Fant4stic I had a poll up for my Halloween Special and between the Top 10 Gothic Superhero Costumes or a Comixplanation on Death in Comics and I think it’s pretty obvious on which one won.  This list is pretty simply: it’s my personal favorite Gothic superhero costumes.  So basically if it’s mostly black with maybe some white, purple, or blue, than it qualifies.  Let’s get the the list!

Batman V Superman Comic-Con Trailer Review and Explained

Warning:  All of what I’m about to say may very well be me speculating and theorizing.  So if I say something that contradicts something that is revealed later than that is why.  Also just to be on the safe side I’m just going to say there are possible spoilers below but I highly doubt there’s anything that will ruin the movie if I mention it.

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So as most of you probably know by now, the second trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (you know, saying the full title over and over again doesn’t change how ridiculously cheesy it sounds) was released at Comic-Con and since I did a review on the first trailer I figured I should talk about my thoughts on this one.  So let get to the review! Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles – Review

justice league gods and monsters chroniclesc logoHello interweb, Nate here.  So Bruce Timm, who was the man responsible for the DCAU, is making a brand new DC animated movie!  Considering that Justice League: War (which Bruce Timm was not a part of whatsoever) was the first of the bad DC animated movies to have come out in recent years, it’s nice to see a man who actually knows what he’s doing take a shot at it.  But this isn’t it, right?…Right?…Riiiight???? Blue Beetle Volume 8 – Review

Blue Beetle ShellshockedHello interweb, Nate here.  So while I’m revisiting episodes of Justice League to get ready for Friday’s list, I thought I would take today to review a title that I’ve been wanting to read and review for a while: Blue Beetle Volume 8.  I’ve already reviewed the first 3 issues of the New 52 Blue Beetle (reviews of issues 1, 2, and 3) so I decided to check out Jaime Reyes’s first comic book run.  The only problem is I got the entire run from my library as trades (the list of trades for this run is below) and I actually couldn’t get my hands on the one called Blue Beetle: Black and Blue.  Usually I would be find with this, but since I’m reviewing the series I kinda feels like this would make the review incomplete.  So just keep that in mind.  Also since I’m reviewing the entire run I’m not going to do my usual format and instead I’ll just talk about the book similarly to how I did my FCBD reviews. Free Comic Book Day – Reviews

Free Comic Book Day 2015Hello interweb, Nate here.  So Saturday was Free Comic Book Day!  For those of you who don’t know, FCBD is the first Saturday of every May where comic book publishers selects a few of their comics and gives them out for free.  This was actually my first time going to a FCBD event so I didn’t really know what to expect.  I originally was planning on getting more titles than I got (such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar, and Pokemon) but it turned out that you where only allowed to get three comics unless you where cosplaying (dressing up as a fictional character, usually from comics or anime/manga) where you could take four.  So the comics I ended up getting was: Divergence #1 from DC, and Secret Wars #0 and All-New All-Different Avengers both from Marvel.  Since I liked all the comics I got, I decided that I wanted to give them a review.  However, because I got 3 comics that I want to review I’m not going to do my usual comic review format just to make it a little quicker.  Also, I’m just going to talk about the stories, so don’t be surprise if I don’t mention the art or anything like that.  So with that in mind, what did I think about these comics?
