Hello interweb, Nate here. Welcome to 90’cember, where I go over the over-the-top craziness that is 90’s comics throughout the month of December to celebrate the over-the-top craziness that is Christmas. Today we’re going over the DC Vs Marvel comic book line and exploring the crossovers that occurred during the events.
Side note: As most of you know, the second official Batman V Superman trailer recently been released. So despite the fact that we’re in the middle of 90’cember, I thought I’d post a trailer review of it tomorrow. You guys seem to enjoy those types of posts so what the heck!
Hello interweb, Nate here. Okay, let’s get a few things out of the way: yes I’m still going to finish NonComic Month, yes this post is technically breaking the whole “no comics allowed” rule for this month, and yes this is the new series (that you guys probably forgot that it was even mentioned by now) that I mentioned in my New Years Special. This new series I call Comixplanation as I give xplanations on things in relation to comix (see what I did there?). Now one thing is after DC announced their Convergence event (yet another DC event made to reboot their universe) I bet you guys kinda thought I would talk about it as I seemed pretty excited when I talked about Marvel’s Secret Wars event. The only difference is this is Marvel’s first multiverse-wide reboot while DC is rebooting their universe after they just rebooted it with Flashpoint and the New 52 5 years ago and honestly I never did care for the New 52. So while I’m excited about Secret Wars I’m really ticked about Convergence (where do I get in line?) and really don’t want to talk about it right now.
So anyways, one thing that I’m kinda excited and kinda nervous about at the same time is the upcoming DCCU (DC Cinematic Universe). Now I have to admit, I never really wanted to pick sides in the whole “Marvel Vs DC” debate (even making a whole post about it) but that was mostly because I was always worried that if I publicly stated that I like X better than Y than you guys would start thinking that I disliked or even hated Y even though I love Y, I just like X a little more. Now that I see how stupid that is I’m just going to come out and say it: I like DC a little more than I like Marvel. I won’t go into the details here (that probably deserves a whole post all to itself) but it does go to show that I really want the DCCU to succeed even though the movie Man of Steel kinda makes me nervous about the whole ordeal. So here are some ways that the DCCU could be better than the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and whether this is just me giving myself false hope or these facts will contribute in one way/shape/form will be seen in the future. Also, it should be noted that “could”=/=”will”, these are all theoretical and may not actually work out. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So my most popular post with 337 views is my Quicksilver Vs Flash – Character Compare and I haven’t really went back on this series for some reason. So I’m going to try and do a few more of these only I’m changing the rules very very slightly so if you haven’t read QS Vs Flash then go check it out and you can see what the original rules were but the rules for this Character Compare are below. (more…)
Happy New Year interweb, Nate here. So the schedule of this post is kind of confusing as I meant for this to be my very first post on my blog of 2015, but obviously it isn’t since yesterday I posted my Civil War Review as I’ve been holding back on that post for quite some time now and I felt that it needed to get posted. So while this technically isn’t the first post of 2015, I might treat it as it is as there are things I plan on doing with this new year.
Before I get to talking about what’s yet to come I should get us introduced to this post. So I’ve had this blog for 9 months now (excluding this month), I have a total of 49 followers, and my most viewed post has had 273 views. Now in comparison to other big blogs that may not be that big, but I’m 15-years old I have 49 people who has basically said “I like the content on this blog” and my most viewed post has 273 views. Honestly, how many 15-year old can honestly say what I have just said? Not a lot. So honestly, thank you guys for reading this blog and supported me through 2014. And I bet this paragraph has definitely shown that I’m a modest person :P. So this post is going to be based purely by views. No favoritism, no biases, no anything in that nature (except I am taking the Character Bio Format as that’s technically isn’t a post and would have normally made the number 5 spot on here).
With the upcoming posts I have several things in the works. For one my Ant-Man Character Bio is almost done and originally I was going to wait til closer to the release date, but considering that this thing comes out in July I’m probably going to simply post it within a couple of weeks. I also have several other Character Bios and Character Compares in the works so keep an eye out for those. I’m just going to go ahead and spoil one of each, for the Character Bio you can expect to see one on X-23 and a Character Compare comparing Green Arrow to Hawkeye. There is also a brand new series that I have planed that will probably debute some time this month or early on next month. So a huge chunk of 2015 will be the usual Top 10s (or 5s), Character Bios, Character Compares, and an unannounced series. And with that monster of announcements, let’s go over to out list!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I made a mistake last week when I said this week would be the Halloween because I had a Halloween Party this Friday and confused it with Halloween. So this week, I’m going to do this week and next Friday (Halloween) I’ll post my Top 10 Scariest Comic Book Characters (as usual, DC and Marvel only). If you have a suggestion for next weeks post, leave it in the comments below or on my Facebook page.
So a while back I posted my opinions on some of DC and Marvel’s future films that were announced at the time, but there has been a lot of new movies announced sense then (so far we have over 30 announced movies up to 2020). So these are the ten I’m really looking forward to.
Hello interweb, Nate here. Now your probably looking at that rather long chart and wondering: “Why you haz big chart?”. Well, this chart of future Marvel and DC movies was made a while ago, and I have been meaning to talk about it but I haven’t had time til just now. Just to be clear, I’m not going to discuss every movie on this chart as that would probably take an hour to read, but I am going to go over the movies I have a strong opinion towards. So I’m going to start with Marvel, because frankly DC is really scaring me here, and just talk about some movies that are coming out. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. Just so you guys know, my computer broke and so I may have my posts come up later than usual as I will be borrowing my dad’s computer. Anyways, let’s face it, as awesome as superheroes are, they do have a few qualities that gets on our nerves. Here are the ten things that gets on my nerves. The rules are below, now lets begin. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. Sorry that I don’t have the Batman Beyond Review up, but this show is just so awesome that I’m having trouble with making it short enough to keep your guy’s interest and long enough to get all my thoughts out. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. Welcome to my new blog where I talk about, you guessed it, superheroes. I am planning on doing quite a few things with this blog in the future so I decided to tell my early viewers my plans. I still have some things I want to get done, such as a picture for my blog instead of a full red thing at the top, but that will all come with time.
I am probably not going to post consistently on one specific day, but I will attempt to post at least once every week. It will probably be anywhere between Friday-Monday but I will have one post published weekly.
Upcoming Posts and Ideas
On this blog I’m mostly going to be doing countdown posts and reviews on certain things superhero-related such as cartoons, movies, etc. but I also plan on making other posts like Character bios (these will include information such as the character’s history and powers as well as my opinion on them). I also plan on speaking about different things about superheroes that I want to express my opinion, one that is coming soon is a DC vs Marvel post I have planned. If you have any requests for a post, do not hesitate to ask.
Other Important Things
When I say “superhero”, I don’t specifically mean comic book heroes. While those are probably what I’ll talk about the most, I also mean superheroes from other sources of media such as Danny Phantom and Ben 10. I’m also gonna have a “comment” thing on each of my posts. This could be anything from your guys opinions to a trivia question. This is mostly gonna just be a way for my to interact with you guys.
