Hello interweb, Nate here. Hey, remember when I said I’d start posting every Friday? I f***ing lied! It’s really hard to keep a consistent schedule when you just don’t have the motivation to do it. Depression sucks kids, don’t do it! Ok ok jokes aside…Marvel FINALLY released the Captain Marvel trailer today and of course I have some thoughts. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge Carol Danvers fan (I do like Kamala Khan though) but I am a fan of the fact that we finally get a Marvel film with a female lead and especially a lead as powerful as Captain Marvel. I’ve heard rumors said pretty much since 2012 that we’d eventually get a Black Widow movie, but I never really cared for that idea. Because quite frankly, Black Widow just never really appealed to me. She has no super powers, which is fine neither does Hawkeye, Iron Man, Batman, etc. And I love all those characters! But at least all those characters have some personality quirk or interesting mythos and stories that holds my interest and with BW, she’s just kind of boring. So Carol Danvers seems like a great character for Marvel’s first female-lead movie and I’m pretty happy about that. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here! You know what I decided I wasn’t going to do when this book was announced? Read it. The reason is because most event books are pointless and Marvel makes them so often that they’re annoying. I also knew that this book was nothing more than a response to Captain America: Civil War because if people saw Captain America: Civil War and then saw that Marvel was producing a book with “Civil War” as the title, people would want to buy it. Now I JUST got finished with the final issue and good god it was horrible. I did not anticipate this book being as bad as it was and I want to let off some steam. So with that, here’s my review!
MAJOR SPOILER WARNINGS FOR THE FOLLOWING COMICS: Civil War II, Ultimates, Doctor Strange, Spider-man, and Ms. Marvel
Hello interweb, Nate here. Welcome to 90’cember, where I go over the over-the-top craziness that is 90’s comics throughout the month of December to celebrate the over-the-top craziness that is Christmas. Today we’re going over the DC Vs Marvel comic book line and exploring the crossovers that occurred during the events.
Side note: As most of you know, the second official Batman V Superman trailer recently been released. So despite the fact that we’re in the middle of 90’cember, I thought I’d post a trailer review of it tomorrow. You guys seem to enjoy those types of posts so what the heck!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So Saturday was Free Comic Book Day! For those of you who don’t know, FCBD is the first Saturday of every May where comic book publishers selects a few of their comics and gives them out for free. This was actually my first time going to a FCBD event so I didn’t really know what to expect. I originally was planning on getting more titles than I got (such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar, and Pokemon) but it turned out that you where only allowed to get three comics unless you where cosplaying (dressing up as a fictional character, usually from comics or anime/manga) where you could take four. So the comics I ended up getting was: Divergence #1 from DC, and Secret Wars #0 and All-New All-Different Avengers both from Marvel. Since I liked all the comics I got, I decided that I wanted to give them a review. However, because I got 3 comics that I want to review I’m not going to do my usual comic review format just to make it a little quicker. Also, I’m just going to talk about the stories, so don’t be surprise if I don’t mention the art or anything like that. So with that in mind, what did I think about these comics? (more…)
