Ranking the 2016 Comic Book movies

2016-comic-book-moviesHello interweb, Nate here!  So today was suppose to be the Top 5 DC Comics of 2016, but I’ve been busy and I’m not fully caught up with all the DC comics I’m reading currently.  Therefore, I decided to do the comic book movies first and instead of a Top 5 list why don’t I just simply rank them?  After all, there were six movies so why not? Will we see Robin in the DCEU? – Comixplanations

Batman's RobinsHello interweb, Nate here.  So I haven’t used this Comixplanations segment as much as I originally planned.  Ah well.  So anyhoo, we have heard from Warner Bros that Ben Affleck is not only playing Batman in the DCEU Batman movies but will also be directing it.  Of course you can’t do an MCU-styled DC movie universe without making at least one Batman solo film.  We know that Wonder Woman’s movie is in the works (I reviewed the first trailer) and Man of Steel 2 is currently in development (PLEASE make it better than the first movie) and on top of that Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, and Green Lantern are all getting their solo movies.  So with that there’s quite a bit of questions and speculations that we can make while waiting.  However while a few of those characters I know very little about (like Aquaman), I do know most of the characters in the Justice League as well as their history and characters.  And while any one of them can make a really good movie series given the right creative teams (barring Cyborg really since he honestly needs the Teen Titans to be the least bit interesting), Batman in particular has the potential for a greater movie series than even the beloved Dark Knight trilogy with so many villains and allies that have yet to be used fully in a previous Batman movie.  But there’s one ally that I’m really curious on how they’re gonna go about with: Robin!

Suicide Squad – Review

Suicide SquadHello interweb, Nate here.  So I saw Suicide Squad opening day!  But before I get to this review I do want to confirm that I’ll be reviewing The Killing Joke either later today or tomorrow but I’ll definitely be reviewing it rather soon.  I put a poll up in my Wonder Woman trailer review and I have at least 4 of you guys wanting me to review this animated movie and nobody seems to be against the review so I figured I’ll give into your guys’ desires and cough up a review for the movie.  But I’m not reviewing The Killing Joke!  I’m reviewing Suicide Squad!  So let’s get into this!  And as always, spoiler warning. Justice League Trailer Review and Explained

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So during Comic-Con, DC released trailers for both Wonder Woman and Justice League and in my last post I mentioned how I adored the Wonder Woman trailer but the Justice League trailer did leave me with a few minor complaints.  Overall because I feel like I have more interesting things to say about the Justice League trailer I thought I would kick off my reviewing that trailer first and Wonder Woman second.  Now I do want to make it clear that I haven’t seen Batman V Superman yet but by now I have been spoiled so I know quite a few details about the movie.  With that said, let’s begin! Batman V Superman Final Trailer Review and Explained

Warning:  All of what I’m about to say may very well be me speculating and theorizing.  So if I say something that contradicts something that is revealed later than that is why.  Also just to be on the safe side I’m just going to say there are possible spoilers below but I highly doubt there’s anything that will ruin the movie if I mention it.

Hello interweb, Nate here!  Wow, the final trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has finally arrived and it is BA!  Although the title is still kinda lame imo.  Before we jump right in, I do want to clarify that I’ll be going over The Death of Superman closer to the release date of this film.  Anyways, onto the review! My Top 5 Most Anticipated Comic Book Movies for 2016

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So sorry about how 90’cember is going.  I thought I’d be able to get the posts out weekly for December but obviously that’s not the case.  I will try to get the remaining three 90’cember posts posted but it will end up stretching to January; although I won’t let it get to February.  With that aside, 2016 is turning out to be a fantastic year for superhero comic book movies so I thought I’d count down the 5 films I’m most excited for!

Batman V Superman Trailer #2 Review and Explained

Warning:  All of what I’m about to say may very well be me speculating and theorizing.  So if I say something that contradicts something that is revealed later than that is why.  Also just to be on the safe side I’m just going to say there are possible spoilers below but I highly doubt there’s anything that will ruin the movie if I mention it.

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So as most of you know by now, Batman V Superman has its second trailer released for public viewing and since I already did the teaser trailer and the first official trailer, I can’t just not do this trailer, right?  So let’s go over this monster! (more…)

Batman V Superman Comic-Con Trailer Review and Explained

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So as most of you probably know by now, the second trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (you know, saying the full title over and over again doesn’t change how ridiculously cheesy it sounds) was released at Comic-Con and since I did a review on the first trailer I figured I should talk about my thoughts on this one.  So let get to the review! Hello interweb, Nate here.  As you can see above, DC/Warner Bros has recently released their teaser trailer for the 2016 film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (see clip above for full trailer).  Of course this is only a teaser trailer, so I bet this won’t be the last trailer for the movie.  So what do I think?  Let’s see. 7 Things That Batman V Superman Needs To Do

Batman V Superman Dawn of JusticeHello interweb, Nate here.  Okay, I think I’m done with the “NonComic Month”  Because of how busy I was last week I didn’t get last weeks post and now I honestly don’t really want to finish it but it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if you guys want me to finish it.  So below I have a poll asking you guys what you think.

Anyhoo, so information about the upcoming DC movie Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been coming out ever since Man of Steel and as far as I can tell it’s a Justice League prequel that’s going to use Lex Luthor as the villain to get the Justice League together (why exactly can’t they just call this the first Justice League movie?). Basically everybody who likes DC right now is crossing their fingers that this movie will actually be good but many out there doubting it’ll be all that good and/or will be overshadowed by Captain America: Civil War which is taking place the same year and is basically Captain America V Iron Man in a sense.  So I already talked about how I’m, hoping the DCCU won’t just be good, but better than the MCU (even though I think I’m just getting my hopes up and I might be disappointed).  So here are 7 things that needs to happen in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

To see my other Top 10s (or 5s) click here.  (Also I’d like to note that yes this is my first list that isn’t a top 5 or a top 10 but I wanted to talk about all of these factors and I couldn’t think of anything else) (more…)
