Hello interweb, Nate here! So, this is something that has been on my mind as of late. Mainly due to the recent news of Disney buying Fox being pretty much confirmed at this point. The X-Men will definitely be part of the MCU in the future. Now despite that news, I’m not going to be talking about my thoughts on it at this time. I already did that back in 2015 (yes, this it really has been that long) and you can read my full thoughts here. Instead, I kinda just want to discuss this particular team in general for a bit. This post will probably be somewhat of a rambly mess because I actually don’t have any clear idea of what I want to talk about as I’m writing this, but here goes nothing! (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here! So I’ve been neglecting this blog a lot lately. It mostly started when college began last year and I used college as an excuse to not worry about this place for a while. However, summer is almost over and I’ve still barely touched this place. A lot of that was because I’ve just lost a lot of passion for a lot of things recently, including blogging. However, I remember that I used to love blogging! I even remember when I first made this blog, I had a very consistent schedule. Once upon a time, I made it a goal to post some new content once a week and I held onto that goal for a while. Then, I stopped posting weekly and decided to stick with posting every once in a while when I felt like it. Which eventually turned to once a month. Pitiful. So, I thought I’d make some changes!
From now on, I’ll be posting once a week every Friday! Maybe I’ll end up posting more and more often if I can rekindle my passion for comics and discussing comic books, but for now every Friday is my goal. And every Friday will be slightly different. Maybe I’ll discuss some recent news and give my opinions on them, maybe I’ll review something, maybe I’ll do another SuperheroSins, etc. Either way, from this point on wards, expect new content from me once a week! And yes, that means today! Later today, I plan on having something to begin this new plan of mine. So stay tuned to read all about it! For those of you who’ve stuck around this long reading everything I post, thanks! it means a lot to me! For anybody new here, welcome! The more the merrier!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I technically have time to do a full on review and explain segment on the recent Titans trailer, but I’m just too lazy to do it and I don’t care that much. If the trailer looked any good and sparked any degree of passion in me, I might’ve dedicated more time to make this a good, strong, solid review and explain complete with a link to the video and scene-by-scene analysis…but it just looks so bad and I have very little good to say about the series. So, Imma just rant for a bit and leave it at that. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. So I saw this movie a few weeks ago but just haven’t really found the time to review it until now. So here’s probably the last review of this movie you’ll see on the internet for a while hehe. Anyways, non spoiler thoughts? I think I like this movie better then the first one, but my reasoning is slightly biased as I’ll explain a bit more in this review. If you liked the first film, you’ll love this one. It’s just as funny, has more characters, and has a more interesting story to it. So now that that’s done, leggo! SPOILER WARNING as per usual.
Hello interweb, Nate here! So, this review took me forever to make. I actually did see this movie opening weekend, but I had my college finals to trudge through so I’ve been busy. Anyhoo, non-spoiler review? This movie is amazing, watch it!!! Now, SPOILER WARNING!!!! Leggo!
Hello interweb, Nate here. So, in order to make the past two lists, I decided to rank every Ben 10 alien in terms of how much I like them. So, I’m posting the full ranking below incase you’re curious on where your favorite alien landed on the list. I decided to split these ranks into three sections: aliens I like, aliens I’m neutral about, and aliens I dislike. This is mostly a junk post just to show off the leftovers of my two Top 10 Ben 10 posts. Enjoy!

Hello interweb, Nate here! If you weren’t aware of this, yesterday I uploaded my top 10 least favorite aliens from the Ben 10 franchise. I decided to go with my least favorite first mainly just because I felt like ranting a bit so it just made sense to use my least favorites list before my favorite. It’s kind of based on that logic that if you love something enough you’re a bit harsher to the thing’s faults. Or maybe that’s just me. I really love this franchise, but over the decade of its existence, it’s had a few stinky moments. Aliens that frustrate me, retcons that makes no sense, etc. However, today we are not here to rant. Today, we’re looking at the best of the best. The greatest aliens that this series has produced! Let’s get started!
Hello interweb, Nate here! So this summer, I plan on reviewing every single Ben 10 series (and hopefully movie) from the original 2005 series to the reboot. Ben 10 has been a special show to me that has had a huge effect on my childhood, so I wanted to spend some time on this blog showing how great the series is. But unfortunately, with my college finals coming up, I don’t have a lot of time to work on these reviews yet. So until then, I decided to make two top 10 lists back to back: my favorite and least favorite of the Ben 10 aliens. As you can tell by the title of this article, you’re looking at my least favorite first. The worst of the worst! (In my opinion). My favorites will be uploaded later today. With that said, let’s begin!
Hello interweb, Nate here. Non-spoiler opinions? Black Panther himself is lame and boring, the villain is f*cking amazing, and Shuri is cute and funny. The story’s pretty interesting and the politics are thought provoking and interesting. This is probably one of the best Marvel movies out there but also kind of a strange one since it feels so detached from the MCU. While there are jokes present, it’s not as comedic as classic MCU and it’s actually more adult than any MCU film I can think of. I recommend it to anyone who wants a slightly more mature Marvel movie with some racial politics in the mix. Kids might be bored for most of the movie with only a few fun bits here and there to entertain them. From this point on, SPOILER WARNING. You have been warned. (more…)
Hello interweb, Nate here. I’ve been wanting to make this post for a while and since I’m leaving in 15 minutes to go see it I thought I’d jot down some pre-movie thoughts before I head out. I’ll have a review up tomorrow for all of you to see my final thoughts.
This movie has gotten a lot of hype and a large part of it is the fact that this is a mostly black movie with only two Tolkien white guys (like if you got that joke) in the whole mix. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’d know I get really annoyed with the SJW side of comic books and I’ve had mixed opinions on representation as a whole. However, before seeing the movie I don’t really see this as a big SJW movie at all. When I think SJW, I think of people forcing representation into the story rather than letting things organically develop. Iceman is a good example of this. However, the mythos surrounding Black Panther just doesn’t come off to me as forcing representation down our throats and actually feels like a breathe of fresh air considering how few movies like this film are out there.
In fact, I’d go as far as to say this movie seems like a really important movie in terms of representation for the black community. Granted, this is kind of a funny form of representation when you really think about it. I mean, Wakanda is a fictional country with different politics and societal standards than the real world and thus doesn’t technically represent the struggles of black Americans or even black Africans (is that redundant?). Although, I realize what people mean by representation since it’s not really in comparative to real world society but mainly from Hollywood movies in general. I mean, when was the last time you saw a primarily black cast in a movie?
Now lets talk about the movie itself outside of politics for a second, since I really wanna rush this out there before I head out to see this thing. When the movie was initially announced, I wasn’t actually overly excited for the film since to me I saw it as just another Marvel movie and with Infinity War on the horizon my hype is set on that film more. But the closer this film has gotten to it’s release, the more hype it built and I’ve slowly been sucked into the hype. It wasn’t until the movie officially came out that I became as hyped as I currently am to see this thing. People keep saying it’s the best Marvel movie yet! I’m hoping I’m not over-hyping this film in my head so I’m not dissapointed if it doesn’t meet any of my unrealistic expectations, but I am excited either way.
A few predictions I want to make before seeing this thing:
- One of the infinity stones are going to be in this movie as a McGuffin (I haven’t been keeping track of these rocks but I’ve been told we’re still missing one)
- Despite the largely black cast, I’m not expecting this movie to get too political since it’s still a Marvel movie. Maybe they’ll make a Black Lives Matter jab or something, but for the most part idk
- I am going to f*cking love Shuri and Killmonger just by judging the trailers
- (Possibly more than T’challa himself)
Alright, time for me to go. Forgive any possible typos or grammar mistakes please as I wrote this in a rush. I’ll fix minor details later. Peace!
