Father’s Day Special – Top 10 Male Superheroes

Announcements

Hello interweb, Nate here.  So the ladies got there top 10 list on Mothers Day (check that list here), now its our turn.  I have to admit, this list was pretty hard.  There are a significantly larger amount of male superheroes, so if your favorite didn’t make the list, I apologize.  This is my personal opinion and you have full rights to disagree.  So with that, lets get started; side note: there are lots of guy supers out there, so give me a little grace if there’s a guy I forgot that should have gotten on the list.

Check out my other Top 10s (or 5s) here.

Rulez

  • DC and Marvel only
  • Will be judged by strength, popularity, and awesomeness
    • Other unique factors will also be considered
  • Must be male to be on this list (duh)

Matt Murdock gained his powers when he attempted to save a blind man from being crushed under a truck filled with radioactive material. One of the crates broke, and blinded Matt permanently. This caused Matt’s other four senses to sky rocket to superhuman levels. With his new abilities, he donned the title Daredevil to fight crime.

Now I’m not a huge Wolverine fan myself (sorry, I just don’t like him) I have to admit that he does have a cool factor with those adamantium-coated claws that comes out of his knuckles. Being part of both the X-Men and Avengers, Wolverine is a fan favorite that won’t go away any time soon.

#8 – Flash

There has been several people who have been the Flash, but for this list I’m specifically talking about Barry Allen and Wally West. Yes, this is a tie for the two of them. Both of them gained their powers by having a lightning strike some chemicals that gave them the power to run at hypersonic speed, both are probably the two best known of the four Flashes, and both has been part of the Justice League. While my favorite of the two is Wally, I just couldn’t leave good ol’ Barry of this list.

#7- Hulk

I did not mean for both She-Hulk and Hulk to be number 7 on their respective lists, I swear. But either way, Bruce Banner has the ability to turn into a giant green monster when he gets angry. This monster, known as the Hulk, gets stronger the angrier he gets. Making him to have nearly limitless strength, he’s even stronger than Superman; and Superman can lift 200 quintillion tons (200,000,000,000,000,000,000 tons).

#6 – Ironman

Tony Stark inherited his parents company: Stark Industries, and used that money to create a suit that gives him a bunch of useful gadgets (that’s the short story). His suit contains rockets, lasers, and even an AI butler. Being part of the Avengers, Ironman has gotten huge popularity over the years, and with good reason.

#5 – Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter is a, well, Martian…from Mars.   Due to his biology, Martian Manhunter can use telepathy, telekinesis, and even shape shifting. He’s one the most powerful beings in the DC universe. To put this in perspective, he was assigned to join the Justice League to stop Superman if he ever gets out of control. If he can take out the man of steel, you can see why he made the list.

#4 – Thor

This red-headed, bearded god of Norse mythology has been in so many gory battles he might as well be the villain…oh I’m sorry, wrong Thor. This Thor has long blonde locks, clean shaven, and the only thing evil about him is his arrogance. While Stan Lee might’ve done some creative changes to this god, it goes without saying that this Asgardian hero is extremely strong and is an important member of the Avengers.

#3 – Superman

OK, I don’t care if you think he’s over powered, not relatable, or anything else that might cause one to not like this guy. Superman’s the epitome of a superhero, using his super powers for good and nothing else. It is a fact that he is the very first superhero, yes there has been heroes before such as in Greek mythology. But this was the very first time we had a supernatural being protecting people because it’s the right thing to do. If Superman wasn’t around, we’d either not have superheroes, or the superheroes we have today will be drastically different.

#2 – Spider-man

Peter Parker gained his spider-powers when he got bitten by a radioactive spider. This allowed him to climb up walls, have super strength, and a few other abilities. He even made web shooters to shoot web at bad guys. Too learn more about this web-head, check out the Character Bio I did on him here.

#1 – Batman

I have to say, I absolutely adore Batman. He’s one of the most popular superheroes and that’s largely due to two factors. Factor number 1, he has no superpowers. Now I know other heroes out there have no superpowers, but it’s not just the lack of powers he has. It’s that he has not powers and yet he still can go toe to toe with some extremely dangerous psychopaths. Which brings me to factor 2, his rouges gallery. He has some of the best rouges gallery, the only hero with a rouges gallery even close to as good as Batman’s is Spider-man’s. Batman has Two-face, Clayface, Killer Croc, Harley Quinn, Joker, Penguin, spell binder, and the list goes on and on.
